We are a growing CPA firm seeking a highly experienced Tax Accountant with a strong background in U.S. and New York State tax compliance. Key Responsibilities --- Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns --- Review bookkeeping work prepared by junior staff and ensure accuracy in financial records --- Manage and review sales tax filings and payroll tax compliance for clients in multiple jurisdictions, with a focus on New York State --- Collaborate with team members to support year-round planning and client advisory services --- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior accounting staff --- Communicate directly with clients to resolve tax and compliance issues Required Qualifications --- Minimum 7 years of recent public accounting experience, with a primary focus on tax preparation and compliance --- Proven experience in reviewing bookkeeping, sales tax, and payroll tax filings --- Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal and New York State tax laws and regulations --- CPA license preferred (or in progress) --- Experience with tax software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, or similar), QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel --- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Employment Type: Full Time Years Experience: 5 - 10 years Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 Annual Bonus/Commission: No
