Job Description

Private family seeks a hands-on, service-oriented Domestic Couple to provide full-time, live-in care and maintenance of their primary Hamptons residence on a multi-acre estate. This dedicated couple will ensure seamless daily operations of both the interior and exterior of the residence, maintaining impeccable standards of cleanliness, organization, and hospitality-forward service.

The couple will consist of one Housekeeper / Hospitality Professional and one Houseman, working collaboratively to uphold the highest level of service. This is a full-time, year-round, live-in position with private in-residence accommodations provided, The schedule follows a rotating format, with flexibility required during family visits and weekends. The family resides on property approximately every two weeks, year-round, with heavier presence during the summer months.

Domestic Couple – Housekeeper

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute high-touch service including table settings, food and beverage service, and light healthy meal preparation
  • Provide family-facing service including meal plating, fruit preparation, light cooking (e.g., eggs/bacon), and coffee/tea service
  • Support family and guest hospitality, maintaining a poised, polished, and professional presence
  • Offer thoughtful, anticipatory service during family stays, adapting seamlessly to changing needs and household rhythms
  • Manage daily housekeeping routines and ensure the home remains guest-ready at all times
  • Assist housekeeping team with deep cleaning, performing museum-quality cleaning across all interior spaces
  • Care for and organize wardrobes, linens, closets, and pantries
  • Maintain housekeeping supplies and manage household inventories
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure cohesive household operations and consistent service standards
  • Additional Housekeeper and hospitality focused responsibilities and duties as needed and requested by the family

Requirements:

  • Strong command of English language; superb communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Minimum 8 – 10+ years related experience working in a similar position with a private family
  • Excellent references from current and past employers
  • Service and hospitality background required
  • Exceptional knowledge of fine cleaning techniques and care of specialty surfaces and furnishings including wood, marble, glass, silver, brass, antiques and fine arts
  • Skilled at household deep cleaning and specialty laundering of fine garments
  • Polished, poised and professional in both mindset and manner, use of utmost discretion and confidentiality at all times
  • Detail-oriented, proactive; team-player mindset
  • Superior organization skills and willingness to go above and beyond in all aspects of the job
  • Proficiency with basic household technology, online ordering, and communication tools
  • Flexibility in scheduling with the willingness to work additional hours as needed
  • Legally able to work in the U.S.

 

Domestic Couple - Houseman 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee daily upkeep and general maintenance of interior and exterior property areas
  • Perform light repairs, including basic electrical, plumbing, and equipment troubleshooting
  • Maintain vehicles, garages, tools, and outdoor areas
  • Manage vendors and coordinate seasonal property maintenance
  • Set up and break down outdoor entertaining areas and assist with events as needed
  • Conduct regular property inspections and monitor systems such as HVAC, lighting, and irrigation
  • Ensure property readiness for all family arrivals and departures
  • Handle weather-related property preparations and maintenance
  • Provide occasional driving support for family or guests

Requirements:

 

  • Strong command of English language, superb interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent references from current and past employers
  • 5–7+ years of experience in a similar private household or estate role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor repairs
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable managing household systems and tools
  • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; willing and able to take direction well
  • Hands-on, Reliable, discreet, and service-oriented with excellent communication
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working long hours outdoors
  • Organized, strong attention to preventative maintenance
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation (combined): $180,000–$200,000 per annum + Benefits
