Job Description

Overview Position: Testing Proctor in the Testing Center (SUNY Ulster County Community College). Salary: Non-Exempt, part-time under 17.5 hours per week. Application Deadline: Open Until Filled. Priority Screening: October 28, 2025. Location: SUNY Ulster County Community College, a two-year branch of the State University of New York located ninety miles north of New York City in the Catskill Mountains. This position provides proctoring services in support of faculty, student services, and disability services in the testing center. Key Responsibilities Check-in students and verify identification prior to administering tests to ensure test security. Maintain positive contact with all examinees throughout the testing process. Observe and report any violations of testing protocols. Develop a thorough knowledge of testing policies and procedures. Provide customer service, including welcoming students, giving testing instructions, and assisting students and faculty in person, by email, and by phone. Make sound, ethical judgments regarding exam security. Ensure testing accommodations are provided for students where required. Demonstrate knowledge of or the ability to learn assistive technology for students with disabilities. Perform administrative support tasks as needed. Minimum Qualifications AA degree. Experience in teaching, test administration, and/or higher education. Ability to give written and oral instructions and to communicate well and professionally with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Ability to exercise sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential information. Some daytime, evening, and weekend availability is required.
