We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in a full-time, salaried role at our Fridley, MN headquarters. In this role, you'll be responsible for creating and updating a wide range of technical documents including standard operating instructions, Critical to Quality (CTQ) documents, process guides, and project documentation. This position plays a key role in translating complex technical information into clear, accessible content for cross-functional teams.

You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, customer service, and supply chain to gather insights and develop documentation that supports product quality, efficiency, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, revise, and maintain technical documentation such as procedures, work instructions, CTQ documents, and project materials including diagrams, flowcharts, graphics, and photos.
  • \n
  • Research, observe, and engage in on-floor production and office environments to fully understand processes and improve documentation accuracy.
  • \n
  • Manage document control systems to ensure all materials are current, consistent, and effectively communicated across teams.
  • \n
  • Partner with management to define and uphold documentation standards and ensure consistent application across departments.
  • \n
  • Lead and coordinate documentation projects that require collaboration across multiple teams.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with engineers, operators, and internal stakeholders to gather technical details and translate them into comprehensive, easy-to-understand documents.
  • \n
  • Research technical manuals, specifications, customer requirements, and regulations to produce high-quality documentation.
  • \n
  • Review and edit documents created by others to ensure clarity, consistency, and technical accuracy.
  • \n
  • Design and recommend training or instructional tools to support effective knowledge transfer.
  • \n
  • Proactively manage project timelines and deliverables to meet business objectives.
  • \n
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • \n
  • Proven project management experience, including coordination, communication, and presentation to internal and external audiences.
  • \n
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems; quick to learn new software tools.
  • \n
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • \n
  • Analytical thinker capable of developing and delivering well-reasoned, actionable recommendations to management.
  • \n

Education and Experience:
    \n
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • \n
  • Minimum 5 years of senior-level technical writing experience, ideally in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications:
    \n
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • \n
  • Background in writing production-focused procedures.
  • \n
  • Understanding of engineering principles including ECOs, BOMs, routings, and configurations.
  • \n
  • Proficiency with tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, FMEA.
  • \n
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
  • \n
  • Experience with technical photography and image editing (Adobe Photoshop).
  • \n
