Job Overview :
We are looking for a skilled Electrician to join our team, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of home standby generators. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical systems, including load calculations, wiring, and generator integration. The primary responsibility will be ensuring that standby generators are properly installed, safely connected to the home's electrical system, and fully operational in the event of power outages.

Key Responsibilities :

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems for home standby generators.
• Perform electrical wiring and connections between the generator, transfer switches, and the home’s electrical system.
• Conduct load analysis to ensure the correct sizing and installation of the generator and electrical components.
• Install automatic transfer switches (ATS) and ensure proper configuration for seamless power switching during outages.
• Ensure all installations comply with local electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Test and commission standby generators to verify proper functionality and safety.
• Inspect and troubleshoot existing electrical systems, including wiring and transfer switches, to identify any issues and recommend solutions.
• Provide customers with training and guidance on generator operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Keep detailed records of installations, inspections, repairs, and maintenance.
• Communicate with other team members, including gas plumbers and project managers, to ensure seamless project coordination and timely completion.
• Respond to emergency service calls for electrical issues related to standby generators.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

• Proven experience as an Electrician, preferably with a focus on standby generator installation or residential electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, wiring, and electrical code requirements.
• Experience with automatic transfer switches (ATS) and generator control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot electrical issues quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with gas plumbers and other contractors.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, and work in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Experience with home standby generator installation and maintenance, automatic transfer switches (ATS) and generator control systems a plus.
• Familiar with electrical code compliance and safety standards.
• Knowledge of local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
• Valid electrician’s license (preferred but not required).

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 lbs).
• Comfortability working in confined spaces, on rooftops, or in harsh weather conditions.
• Ability to work on ladders or scaffolding as needed.

Compensation :
