Adjunct Faculty, School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science Location: Hickory, North Carolina The School of Health, Exercise and Sport Science (HESS) faculty have primary responsibility for implementation of educational curriculum, facilitation of all aspects of student learning in the classroom. To meet ongoing needs for part-time instructors, Lenoir-Rhyne University (LR) maintains adjunct candidate pools by areas of specialty to meet the needs for the programs. Programs offered in the School of HESS include B.S. in Exercise Science, B.S. in Public Health, B.A. in Sports Management, M.S. Exercise Science, Master of Public Health, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and M.S. in Occupational Therapy. All positions are based on enrollment and subject to available funding. Type of Appointment Faculty: Adjunct Faculty Position Location School of Health Exercise and Sport Science, Hickory campus, in person Reporting Lenoir-Rhyne University School of Health Exercise and Sport Science, Chair Essential Faculty Duties and Responsibilities Contribute to student instruction and evaluation as course coordinator, lecturer, laboratory instructor and/or small group discussion facilitator in areas appropriate to specialty, clinical experience and educational preparation, including actively taking part in assuring the availability of remedial instruction as assigned by the Program Director Qualifications Required Master’s degree or at a minimum 18 hours of completed graduate work toward the specific field or area for undergraduate instruction Required Master’s degree in the specific field or area of study for graduate instruction Preferred prior teaching experience in the specific field or area of study Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Diversity, equity, and inclusion are integral to the university’s commitment to excellence in engagement and education.
